Kind Craft Club

Gathering the creative community of Cape Town to give back.

Kind Craft Club 2025

This year we are making toys in support of Early Learning Resource Unit (ELRU), a nonprofit organisation with forty-three years’ experience in the Early Childhood Development (ECD) sector. The organisation supports more than 950 playgroups scattered throughout the Western Cape and Northern Cape.

We’re aiming to collect as many toys as possible to donate to the children supported by ELRU, and we need your help to do so! These are vulnerable children (3-5 years) who may not have access to, or can’t afford, formal ECD Centre programmes. Give the gift of a beautiful, handmade toy this Christmas – something all children deserve.

How it works
By filling out the form below, you are committing to completing a toy animal by 24th of December, the latest. Once completed you will receive a series of follow up emails, ensuring you’re on track to finishing your toy 🙂

Toys should be
-about the size of a shoebox
-made with high quality stitches and materials
-age appropriate
-safe (no button eyes, no sharp details)
-cute and delightful! We all have a memory of a beloved toy from our childhood – this is your chance to make that for someone

Drop off point
Completed toys can be dropped of at Fabricate, in the Gardens Shopping Centre. If you need to courier yours, reach out for an address.

Thank you in advance for brightening the lives of children and ECDs that need it!
